CEFR is an ordinal ladder, not a percentage. The climb walks A1 → A2 → B1 → B2 and stops at the first level you fail, so what it reports is how far you got — not a mark out of a hundred, and not a number you can compare with anyone else’s. Everyone starts on A1 and everyone answers the A2 block too, cleared or not: that shared block is the one part two people’s scores can be compared over. Above it, clear 60% of a level and the next opens; miss it and the climb ends there and scores what you did. The material underneath all four rungs is Thai script itself: 44 consonants, 33 vowels, and 5 tones carried by 4 tone marks.
107 items exist across the four levels, and the test is a fixed list drawn from them. Everybody answers the same 20 — the A1 and A2 blocks, whether or not you clear A1, so that two people’s scores are over the same number. Each level you clear adds its own block on top, to a maximum of 36.
260 points sit across the bank, and they are not spread evenly. This is the whole difficulty picture, in the bank’s own numbers:

A B2 item is worth 3.4× an A1 item. That is a disclosure, not a boast — it is why the ladder gets harder faster than the question count suggests.
What is tested: 14 grammar · 13 vocabulary · 4 listening · 4 reading · 1 writing, across the 36 items of a full climb. Each level’s block is drawn in proportion to what that level itself tests, so no rung is decided by one skill.
No clock. Every item carries a soft target the authors wrote, and none of them is ever drawn or enforced. Summed over the items this test actually asks — not over the whole bank — those targets put the end of A1 at 3 minutes, the floor at 6, the end of B1 at 9, and all 36 at 12. They are a floor rather than an estimate: a reading item’s target covers answering it, never reading the passage. Take longer; nothing runs out.
Leaving costs nothing. Your position is written down on every answer, so closing the tab loses nothing and coming back offers Resume.
The top rung is not more vocabulary. It is register, and the words that only move inside one:
Clearing B2 means taking 60% of its rungs — 5 of the 8 the form asks there. They are the heaviest items in the test: 29 points across those 8, against 27 for the whole 20-item floor, because 24 of the 33 B2 items in the bank are worth four.
Each rung is a real slice of the curriculum. The plates are the same ones you will climb past, and the counts are the ones the modules hold.

B2 opens no practice mode B1 has not already opened. What it adds is depth: 1,987 B2 headwords inside a graded lexicon of 4,271 distinct Thai entries.
